About Erica
I’m a twenty-something dental student with a baking obsession. My goal isn’t to give you all cavities so I continue to have patients, I just love baking, photography, and sharing my baking endeavors via blogging. And remember, anything in moderation is good, especially with a little floss!
I’ve had no formal baking training and my mom’s pretty hopeless in the kitchen (love ya anyway, ma!), so I’ve counted on the long, long list of baking bloggers I follow. I try to be creative with recipes I stumble upon, but I still find myself relying on the tried-and-true recipes of other bakers. However, the more I bake, the more I learn, and the more confident I feel to come up with my own recipes. My never-ending “to-bake” list keeps me plenty busy in the kitchen and I love churning out beautiful desserts that I can share with my friends, family, and all of you.
Currently I’m living in Connecticut, my home state, after spending four years away in North Carolina at Duke (go Blue Devils!). I’ve loved living 20 minutes from my family (parents + younger brother) and seeing them at least once at week. My boyfriend fiance Ryan and I live together in a lovely condo (check out the Sweet Tooth kitchen here) and when I’m not busy with school, baking, or wedding planning, we love to travel, drink good red wine, and sometimes even work out.
As far as photography goes, I’m mostly clueless with just a tad of knowledge I’ve picked up along the way. I use a Canon Rebel XSi with either a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 or 50 mm f/1.8 lens. I’m a big fan of bokeh and continue to hone my food photography skills with each thing I bake (while also trying to keep my spirits high even after getting denied by the likes of FoodGawker and Tastespotting). Taking pictures of people is a whole different story — cupcakes and stacks of cookies make much easier subjects than whiny fiances and impatient brothers.
Please contact me with any questions and I love reading comments (nice ones, of course)!
Sweetly Yours,
Erica
